The 2021 festival hosted in-person events along with virtual events from July until the beginning of August, with a de-centralized parade on August 1st.
However, both in-person events were cancelled due to the pandemic and online events took place instead. In 2020 Pride Week was going to run from July 27th until August 3rd and the parade was scheduled to happen on the 2nd (which happens to be on the BC Day Long Weekend). The Vancouver Pride Festival occurs each year on the first week or so of August and the Vancouver Pride Parade takes place on the Sunday (which is the second-to-last day of the festival). The Vancouver Pride Parade itself happens in-person on Sunday, July 31st. In 2022 the festival’s theme is “Together Again”, and it takes place around the end of July. Between mid-July and August 3rd there were both in-person and virtual festivities scheduled to take place.
It includes a world-famous Pride Parade in early August.ĭue to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vancouver Pride Festival took place in a modified format for the second straight year in 2021. Pride Week is a gay festival in Vancouver’s West End that celebrates the city’s LGBTQIA2+ community.
